Hello,
It seems there is a Bug which makes Corona 1.7.2 + 3ds 2012 impossible to use with render farms.
In attachment you can see Corona properties from 3ds 2012 (left side) and 3ds 2013 (right side).
Due to this thing it's impossible to use 3rd party plugins (Ranch Computing farm or RenderBuzz) which are used to prepare scene for render farms, becasue it crashes the scripts.
I know 3ds 2012 will be dropped for v2 release, and it is pain in the ass, but it would be nice to have fix for this if there is maybe hotfix 3 planned:)

Best regards.

hi,
I know why this is - max 2012 was the last one to use ASCII internally, everything newer uses unicode. The reason we are dropping its support is that this makes us handle a lot of special cases, and also that we actually can no longer run max 2012 (AD no longer issues licenses for it), so even if we try to fix it, we have no way of (legally) checking if it works. This makes the bugfix impossible, and is one of the reasons we decided to drop the support.

Thx again for keeping 3ds 2012 so long.

no problem. We would fix this if we had a way to legally run max 2012 :/
