When Node will be available for C4D it would very cool to integrate OSL support to it.
Node will already open millions of new shading possibility and way more with OSL (such as procedural flakes, no texture, texture mapping and more procedural stuff). Being able to write in OSL / use available library (most of them free "open source" spirit) will be a big plus to Corona.

For example, the advanced fresnel is based on an OSL shader.

This would be pretty much a Core team request, so try to ask the suggestion there :-)

YES, there it soime similar.

we have made such a tool for our own use, it works native inside Corona, no osl needed.
we made it available for all, everybody can get it here in our shop:

you can use the maps from the wparallax too (only difference is that we have separate maps for each wall, not ony cross, so best you cut those cross textures before use)

our version also works on curved walls etc, not only polygons

edit: Looks like the wParallax works i C4D + Corona.
