I have this dialog everytime I use hair and fur modifier even if it only a sphere and nothing more in the scene. It appears only with corona 1.7 and 1.7.2. I' ve tried 2017 and 2018 max versions - result is the same. Hair and fur works well with other render engines.

I reinstalled windows with all updates and was sure it will help, but NO (  immortal dialog appeared again when I try to use hair and fur.

I think there is a crash in maxutil.dll, but I am not an expert on this, so it would be best if one of our developers would inspect the minidump.

Can you explain what dialog you mean? A screenshot would definitely help.

All working normally here, tested with Max 2018, Corona 2 Daily Build Jan 8th - any idea if this happens with other render engines for you, in case there is something up with the Max install?

Everything is also working fine here, but we've had similar reports from some users. Unfortunately we still don't know what is causing this. We will be sure to let you know once we find out.

I am not 100% sure if this will help in cases like this, but we have released a daily build of Corona Renderer which fixes the issues with scenes crashing on specific computers. Please test this version and let me know if the crashes do not happen for you any more - this is very important for us.

Please note that the daily builds are experimental - they may not be 100% stable, and may even damage your scenes. It is highly advised to backup any important scenes before opening them in the daily builds. To revert to the official version, simply run the Corona 1.7 hotfix 2 installer and proceed with the installation normally.

You can see the full changelog here: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=17972.msg119185#msg119185

Hello! This happens with any scene with hair and fur. But just in case, I attached the scene.

Wow, the scene actually crashed for me too.
Minidump: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vxz6bbysvyl1l8n/3dsmax.zip?dl=0

Update: it even crashed when I disabled the h&f modifier
And if I hide the object

Update 2: Seems that scene > reset settings prevents the crash, but I am not really sure which setting is responsible for this. If I merge the scene into an existing, working scene, it does not crash either.

Hello! I figured out what the crash problem was. Cyrillic letters in path of the user. But 3ds max 2014 was a crash, attach a minidump, but for 3ds max 2016 it worked. I hope you can fix this annoying bug. Thank You!
