Hi, there is a question.

The problem with SSS mode (this is a Bug or unimplemented feature?)

Light does not pass through the object.
Why is translucency and refraction not active?

It seems that transmitting light to the other side does not work by design, but it could be a bug as well, so I will report it.

Translucency and refraction is turned off when using the SSS mode, because this mode is simply not intended to work together with those effects. If you need them, use volumetric scattering instead.

Ok, thanks for answer

This seems to be related to a problem I was having.  Maru, did you figured out if this was by design?  Anything in V2 that would allow transmitting light to the other side ?

Sorry, but it seems it is by design right now.
The issue is reported, but probably not very high priority.

The answer here is that this is a limitation of the SSS mode, and it works like this by design. The SSS mode is a simplified solution, while the volumetric scattering mode is more physically correct and produces such effects like transferring light to the other side.
