Ive been on these forums for quite some time and i never realised the corona goodies forum had a materials subforum and judging by the lack of activity in there id bet alot of other users didnt realise either.
It might benefit from being its own forum now that the material library is coming into the new versions. Would love to see more activity on there!

Sub-forums in general suck, bad concept.

(100 different boards like in Chaos-group and cgarchitect suck too though)

I doubt that dedicated board would boost activity very much. There isn't many people who tends to share and those who does, usually tries to steer as much traffic to their places (patreon, gumroad) as they can.

As for upcoming material library, it could be that it will have an opposite effect - people will create and share less of their own materials and will use premade ones instead.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

If people would like to share their materials not knowing about the "materials" sub-section, then they would post them in the general goodies section. And it doesn't seem to be happening very often anyway...

Its strange for a renderer thats so much more about good looking materials than messing with settings that more people dont post materials.
Nevermind anyway. Just a suggestion.

Suggestions are welcome. :)
Maybe it's because it's so easy to create good-looking materials?

I think it would make perfect sense to have a Material Library forum, may of the existing discussions revolve around material creating already, and the material library is uniquely supported by the engine developer. It could become a really great thing.
