I also have this issue. sometimes changing the viewport preview size will fix it or toggling the diffuse channel on and off.. but not always. very annoying.

Also on newest build, Mac OSX Sierra.

here's an example.

It usually happens when applying a texture. Sometimes it also just turns black.

This wasn't an issue on earlier builds.

In this case i fixed it by toggling the diffuse channel off and back on.

This sounds like a driver issue. Usually happens with AMD GPUs. Had that on my last two machines and rolling back to a previous driver solved it completely.

I dont thing, that this is the reason.

Not able to replicate this here, on latest build on a PC in R19. Flamingo, are you on Mac or PC? Which version of C4D too, for both users having the issues.

Also, in case it plays a part, how are you applying the material? Is the object selected and you use right click apply in the material window, or is the object not selected and you drag the material from the material window to the object manager to drop it on? (And does it make any change in the behavior if you do it the other way?) What Display settings are you using?

I am using PC C4d R19. I drag the Material from the Materialmanager to the object. I do have all the same settings for C4D as it was in all versions before. They have been working fine. So, it seems to me, that this is not a C4D problem, because, when I install a new software and suddenly it doesnt work, than should be the problem in the new software. Am I wrong?

Hi Flamingo!

I don't know the cause, would have to leave that for the developers :) Just wanted to have as much information as possible on how and when this happens, as that can sometimes be critical to finding out what is going wrong, ty for that!

I've not been able to duplicate it here so far, also using R19 on a PC, with Display set to Gourad Shading. Is it every scene and every material by the way? Corona Materials, and does it make a difference if they have bitmaps applied, or bump mapping, etc?

Strange,

yesterday I installed the former built, to work with. To give you feedback for testing the new one, I reinstalled the newest built.
Now it works, and I can see the geometry with the same procedure as usual, with transparency, bump,
and reflection. I am speechless.

I have this issue pasting from one scene to another.  If I make any change to the material like checking then unchecking volume it will re-appear in the viewport.
