Hello everyone!

Im having this terrible problem, always when i want to render hdri sky, i got this message:

"   The plugin corona4d.dylib has crashed.  More information can be found in '/Users/Kuba/Library/Preferences/MAXON/CINEMA C4D R17_89538A46/_bugreports/ _bugReport/txt'.

After clocking 'OK' insaved scene files will be saved as '_bugreports/_recovery_xxx.c4d'   "

Here are steps which im doing before i got this bug report:

1. I create corona material and add sky texture on it
2. In render settings i turn on Mtl. override and i select sky material
3. I add this sky material to corona sky
4. I click render and get this bug report

Thanks,

Kuba

The sky material wouldn't go into the material override - what that will do is make every object render with that material applied and is generally used to make clay renders for test purposes (see https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000035829-how-to-create-clay-renders-in-corona-renderer-for-cinema-4d-)

One thing though, for the Sky material, the CoronaLight material should be used (see https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000030781-how-to-set-up-hdri-environment-in-corona-for-c4d-)

As soon as you have added that CoronaLight material to the Sky object, it will both create lighting, and generate reflections, refractions etc. and you can stop there :)

That's not to say that the crash isn't something that might need fixing, as the Mtl Override should work with any material placed in, but it does mean you can avoid that crash in setting up your scene as it is not a step you should be doing. If there was something specific you wanted to achieve other than have an HDRI image used for lighting, background, reflections and refractions though, let us know!

Thank you! Now i understand everything, but still having some problem, when im rendering with corona sky is completely black. (Im using normal sky- not corona sky, so there is no corona TAG).

Thanks!

Don't forget if you can replicate the original crash, the bug report text would be useful for our developers. Thanks!

I'd need to know how you have things set up. Also, is that in an offline render, or in the Interactive Rendering? For sharing the set up, you can post screen grabs, or just post a cut down version of the file, or if the file is private in any way, you can use the private uploader at https://corona-renderer.com/upload

Thanks!

Hi Kuba, I followed your steps to reproduce the bug and everything worked fine. Could you try it too, please? It looks like the crash has been fixed, so we will probably close this issue unless you happen to reproduce it again.
