Just a question that came up somewhere else:
For Max, there is an Alpha that will never expire.
For C4D, the download site reads:
"This is the latest stable version for Cinema 4D. The plugin is still in development and as such is free to use, even for commercial projects. This build supports Cinema 4D R14, R15, R16, R17 or R18 and will expire after the commercial version is released."
So there won't be a "keeper" Alpha or rather a latest beta before release for C4D users or is the website stating something wrong? Just curious.

actually even the 3dsmax free version is getting less and less relevant as new versions of 3dsmax are being released, new features added, ... We are thinking of doing this in different way, with some freemium model
Rendering is magic. How to get minidumps for crashed/frozen 3ds Max | Sorry for short replies, brief responses = more time to develop Corona ;)

Care to explain (already)?
I think some users (especially with a non-commercial background as myself) would be quite happy with what beta 2 (latest before release according to your roadmap) has to offer, over many years even - if that would be the free part of the freemium thingy.

we could for example release the latest build free for non-commercial use, with some limitation like no DR. But it is still a speculation

Such proposal sounds very promising.
Anyway, I wish you good luck with your CG cooperation and I was happy to hear you will carry on with porting Corona to C4D yourself.

All the best,
Michael
