Hello,

Just waned to ask why is there such great difference with this two images? The only difference is portals on/off

In other case that I mencioned to Maru on PM's the difference was similar to 0,5 exposure and difference in reflections similar to shown.

Regards

You could try 10 vs 10 minutes and denoise both to 100perc. to see if it isn't just different noise convergence in beginning.

I've noticed that the way the sampling currently works, the early passes communicate exposure and white balance rather insufficiently (it appears darker).

If the portals do help in your case to improve sampling, it might be that you're seeing correct exposure a bit sooner.

Thanks,

I did the 50 pass version, I think I need to check the 5 minutes. Will look for the images from conversation with Maru.

Thanks for moving this to the forum.

Some questions:

1. Which one is with portals on, and which one off? Could you name the images correctly to clarify that?

2. Is the same thing happening with path tracing only? (without UHD Cache)

3. How is the background/enviro made? Isn't it by any chance Vray HDRI loader?

Some answers:

1. The portals on are those images that are brighter.

2. I have tested and yes.

3. Its CoronaBitmap in both cases, but in second the difference is Corona Mix consisting CoronaBitmap and Corona sky on "add" parameter.

Will render the test later today.
