Simply put, when you add intensity to a self-illumination in a material it turns white or bright in the viewport. I find it impossible to work with that on. And makes mapping a texture painful. Have to lower the intensity and then map and then turn it back on for rendering.

Anyone else agrees?

Maybe a check box for visibility in the viewport?
