Hello,

When I change the brightness and other post production settings from Post Production window of my render and When I want to save it the color being darker or brighter. My gamma settings is 2,2 at Customize/Preferences/Gamma Window. How can I solve this problem?

I solved problem. Save the output gamma option to 2,2 when render finished. Namely, if your gamma value is 2,2, then save the image with 2,2 settings.

Hi, actually your saved image should be exactly the same as what you see in the VFB.
Which version of Corona and 3ds Max are you using?
Are you saving from the VFB or from Corona Image Editor?
To what file format are you saving your image?

maru thank you for your attention,

Firstly, I'm using 3Dsmax 2014,
I'm saving from VFB channel by the way actually I dont know what is corona image editor? :)
I was saving as .jpg but I noticed that if I save images as .tif the render shown as more sharpen. However if I save as .jpg it looks like soft and distinct from which I see from VFB channel. How should I save my render output format?

Corona Image Editor (CIE) is standalone image... well, editor, basically standalone VFB. It is bundled with Corona 1.6 and should be installed by default. You can locate it at C:\Program Files\Corona

3ds max default jpeg compression settings are pretty bad. You may want to set smoothing to 0 and quality somwhere between 90 - 100. It's one time operation, as next time max will remember your last used settings.

As for your original question, it's likely that your output gamma is set to 1.0 (typical for Vray users) and that forces you to override gamma everytime you save to non linear format. Since 3ds max 2014, there's no convenient way to set input/output gamma, but you can try to enter FileOutGamma = 2.2 in maxscript listener window and see if that helps with your problem.

Hi I realise this is an old thread.
I'm wondering how to adjust the jpg compression using the standalone Corona Image Editor? In 3dsmax I can adjust them when I save, the options are there but not in CIE?

Does anyone ever use any other jpg compression settings than 100%?

I guess you are saying that CIE is saving jpgs at a 100% ?  If thats the case, I'm trying to figure out why they look noisier than the cxr files. I'll try saving them as tiffs or something else to see if the noise still exists.
