Hello!
I'm new to Corona and I'm still in the study phase. Migrating from MR to Corona. I'm really enjoying it.
I have a doubt. Is there any form of object place holder or Limit to Visibility in Corona?Use Placeholder Objects
When on, 3ds Max sends geometry to the mental ray renderer only on demand. Initially, the mental ray scene database is populated only with the sizes (bounding box) and positions of objects in the 3ds Max scene. An object's geometry is sent to the rendering engine only when mental ray renders a bucket that contains the object. This option can improve rendering speed when a large amount of the scene's geometry is outside of the view you are rendering. When the mental ray renderer is low on memory, Use Placeholder Objects enables it to increase available memory by deleting object geometry from the scene database. This can dramatically reduce memory usage, but at a possible cost in rendering speed.
Limit to visibility
Using this checkbox, we limit the items only to the areas covered by the camera's field of view.
I know that corona is a progressive render, there is no bucket. And progressive rendering demands a lot more memory. But is there a similar option?
I have a scene with many clouds, geometry with many polygons and displace modifier applied. When rendering on the corona, it warns you of the lack of RAM (system with 16gb ram). However, only part of the geometry is visible in the animation. When I manually delete the non-visible part, the corona renders without RAM alerting.
There is some function in the Corona of type Object Placeholder or similar to Forest Pack Limit of Visibility? Or is there some function that I did not realize.
Thank you very much for your attention.
