Hi Nikola, alas im still getting problems with that paving file. When using a substance I still get the lines, and when using the bitmap versions in the normal shader it doesnt really show up. I have the mapping set to 0.75 cubic. If I switch it between uv and cubic I different outcomes but neither are right. When I set it to 3000% I get the lines back using the bitmap files. No matter which way I try it, there still seems to be an issue for me. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Looks like its fixed some stuff for other people so Im not sure why this is such a problem case.

Also to confirm the preview box is black is that right?

Thanks for looking in to this.

I can confirm this problem is connected to cubic mapping. I am trying to find what exactly causes these artefacts now. Would it be possible to create some similar normal map and texture but with less detail and export it from substance shader in the same way like paving texture and map? I am trying to find out wich part of normal map causes the artefacts whether is there some offset between texture and normal map or flipped axis and so on.

I don't need it anymore. I just found that this problem occurs only when "Tile" is on when "Cubic" projection is used. So I am now looking into code what can be wrong.

Ah brill. Hopefully tracking it down to that is half the work. I wonder if this has any connection to bump mapping? I find it a bit hit and miss and much less pronounced than Vray

Ive attached a couple of examples. A diffuse grey with some reflection on both so only the bump is providing the texture. I have had to crank the corona one up to 800%. Whilst I much prefer the light and look of the corona one it cant be denied that there is more detail in the bump in the vray version. The first example uses a karate tile shader with random planks and the second is a regular tile.

I tried A6.3 on three different MacBook and an iMac (all Sierra), Corona still crashes when you create a new corona material or render to picture viewer.

Hi, to me it looks like the Vray version has a completely different lighting setup, which makes the bump features more pronounced, whereas in the Corona scene, you have pretty much flat lighting, which flattens the bump too.

dude, trust me,corona bump has big problem.do it yourself, you'll know it. corona version A3's bump is right, after version A3,all version's bump has problem, big problem with noise and texture.

PLZ fix it...

PLZ.

Hi , thank you for the answer. For some more clear information about the crash I'm getting; on Cinema 4D versions r16 and r17 are the only versions I tried Corona.I also tried Corona Renderer on a Cinema 4D r17 on Windows , there was no error or crash happened with Windows. The main issue is with MacOs Sierra. There is no problem with the Corona Sun , Corona Sky , Light or Camera. They all work charm. But after you change renderer from Standart to Corona and hit the picture viewer Corona Crashes.Materials aren't working either. When you create "New Corona Material" it gives the same crash report and Cinema app shuts down.None of the versions of Corona I could found worked with MacOs Sierra. All gave the same crash report on the same act.

I think this is exactly the point. They do look markedly different. Even though it was just a quick test, they are both lit by a sun from roughly the same direction and have a grey diffuse texture. They both have a semi rough gloss reflection but I think the vray one is a bit more glossy by default / ior fall off. But they are basically the same scene using the same bump textures. I think corona pics up a higher frequency noise which just makes the surface universally rough where as vray looks like grooves in the surface and gives more of the expected texture detail and 3D feel. I think this is partly why the corona one looks more matt and the vray one more shiny.

Under the main Corona menu - don't forget to check "Enable multipass" in the multipass menu too, once in there :)

I just upgraded to Mac OS Sierra 10.12.4 and Corona a6.3 and I am able to hit render in the Picture Viewer no problem. The materials all seem to work as well. I even switched the renderer to Standard and back to Corona and still no crash. So it seems not every Mac is crashing like this.
