How can I fix this?:

Left is without bump map, right is with. It doesn't matter what bump amount, as soon as I enable the bump map, this shows up. I've checked that gamma is correct.

This is shadow terminator bug. It is well known and should be adressed in upcoming 1.6. Currently the only solution is to increase polygon count by either manually subdividing mesh or by adding displacement. This will make error areas less visible.

Ah, ok. I did just that, put the bump in the displacement slot instead. Not the prettiest solution, but I guess it'll work until 1.6. Thanks.

Not a very good solution. You will not get the same detail as when using bump maps, and also may lead to memory overuse.

For me, Tuning down the bump intensity from 1.0 to 0.9 helped getting rid of this Problem.
