hello guys!
Here comes an image for a coffee shop refurbishment, I did to test volumetrics and DOF using the Corona exporter for Blender... Sketchup, Blender, Corona standalone... no post-production
hope you like it!

I am always happy to see great works made in other apps than 3ds Max such as this one! Images produced with each host application have different atmosphere in them, I cannot explain it, but it's probably because of different workflows used. For example there is a lot of "abstract" images made in C4D, 3ds Max is more "technical", and I think Blender images usually have more "artistic" feeling in them. Definitely looking forward to more Blender works!

Many thanks Maru! I agree, I use Corona + 3ds Max at work, and results compared to Blender are not the same, i would say that blender is a bit experimental too...

Sparky, my scene is set up inside a cube, the cube has volume material, and very important to put your camera OUTSIDE the cube, you can also use global volume material but it is slower to render, see attached image for volume material parameters, hope this can help you

I feel the same and perhaps there is actually a tangible difference between apps and how materials get processed. Does the host app do the image filtering for the bitmaps? I also think Max has better image adjustments than C4D during material creation - the c4d HSL / gamma etc can quickly lead to a washed out bitmap where when I see the tuts with max there is better detail contrast etc. I think this leads to crisper images in Max. Im hoping Corona expands its own image loader with enhanced colour correction options and we can use that instead of the c4d ones.

Nice image by the way Novena!

Really nice to see something done with the new corona renderer for Blender. Like the use of the volumetric effect to create a unique atmosphere  :-)

Basically softwares are just tools. What may vary is how to utilize that tool to achieve the desired result. I am familiar with both 3dsmax and Blender. Workflow/ tools might differ or more tweaking could be required where needed. I think the results can look almost the same if tweaked right but the steps required ranges depending on app used.
