Hello. This -I think- is the first time I am writing in this Forum. I am Alex and I am the Technical Director of Eve Images (Berlin). Our office switched completely to corona about half a year ago. We also switched from Backburner to Deadline about 9 months ago. Since we are a big studio (around 50 people) I wrote a custom Deadline Submission Tool that is also capable of submitting Tile Jobs. Since then a lot of Tile jobs were submitted (as this is now just a press of a button) and I run into a lot of limitations during development:

-no sampling adaptivity -> would cause seams, but without adaptivity renderings take longer
-no denoising -> would cause seams, but without denoising renderings take longer
-no 360 full spherical renderings -> the uhd cache file will not be loaded, so every tile will calculate the uhd file from scratch -> seams (and path tracing is simply too slow in 6k sphericals)
-no bloom/glare -> as calculation based on image brightness -> tiles without a lightsource will hot have bloom/glare -> seams
-no noise level limit (as adaptivity has to be disabled)

one of the issues would not be a big deal, but all together add up. I know that these issues are hard to solve because every blade needs to have an overview of what the tiles next to the one that it is rendering are like... but there needs to be a solution, a solution that can be automated (if it has something to do with corona stand alone) or integrated into deadline.

If anybody has easy solutions for the problems I mentioned above: Please let me know, but If there is none, Please Developers: fix it :-)

PS: if this is fixed until nexe EUE Eve Images will pay for a lot of beers :-)

hi,
we will get to it before the next release, but we are currently busy with some internal rewriting. Do not worry, bug reports are never forgotten ;)

Hi,
we systematically worked on removing these limits from both Corona DR and 3rd party integration in 1.6, so:
- adaptivity and noise level limit now works with Corona DR (but I cannot really think how this could work with 3rd party solution to be honest)
- you can now apply bloom/glare and denoising after rendering in Corona Image Editor

thanks a lot. The corona image editor seems like a good solution for some of our problems :-)
