Hi,

Just stumbled across a new bug this morning. When using the Forester plugin and rendering to VFB, it appears that Corona only renders the viewport settings of the Forester plugin, rather than the render settings. For instance, i had the plugin set to just show the trunk and branches in the viewport, but to render with 2 levels of leaves. WHen rendering to C4D picture viewer, it renders fine, but when rendering to VFB, it only renders the trunk and branches.

Cheers,
Brad.

Just an update. It appears that Corona just renders the viewport levels and not the render levels when using the Forester plugin. Doesn't matter which render viewer you are using.

This can be a bit of a pain, as it puts unnecessary stress on the viewport when working with lots of trees.

Cheers,
Brad.

+1 for this issue, although I've usually found render to PV more fail safe.

I've also had problems with 2 renders running at the same time when using forester (and without). I wonder if the render to VFB is the equivalent of Render View and perhaps this is why?

This issue has still not been addressed. Forester is an amazingly flexible plugin which i use for pretty much all of my distant trees, however it is difficult to work with in Corona because it only renders the 'viewport levels' setting, rather than the 'render levels' setting. Keeping all the trees at viewport levels is not possible as it slows the viewport dramatically, which means i have to display them all as the line box view... which makes initial placement and adjustments difficult.

Is it possible to fix this?

Cheers,
Brad

Brad, have you tried rendering to PV with your forester trees? I am literally rendering a scene out now with forester trees that are just trunks and branches in viewport but fully leafed in the PV. You can open the VFB from the PV once its started for tweaking

Its annoying that you cant do it in the VFB though and also the viewport render

Hi Rhodesy, Thanks for your answer. I just tried it, and it works.... So its a step forward. I guess I'll have to tweak my workflow a little to start in the PV instead of the VFB.

Thanks again for your help!

Cheers,
Brad

I just got my new serial for R19 and noticed on the download page there was a forester update on Aug 21st.

Forester for Cinema 4D 1.2.3 (August 21 2017)
Added High Resolution export with extended support for Corona, Indigo and Maxwell renderers

I've only done a couple of quick tests this morning but it seems to be rendering correctly to the VFB now so hopefully we can do away with the PV workaround.

Yes, I can confirm this. The Forester devs have fixed this bug in the latest update
