Hi Guys, this is my first gallery upload here.
I have a bad habit of starting projects (tests really) and not completing them so I thought I should get into the habit of uploading to WIP pages, here goes:
Two frames from a 30 frame animation test I did to see how Corona performs, I am pleased with the results although the motion blur and DOF are a bit slow (in this case I ended up using motion blur in Nuke to smooth out the Corona mblur)
Renders are 30min/frame at 1920x1080 (pt+pt) on a i7 2720QM 2.2ghz quad (laptop). Post in nuke.

Frame 0:

Frame 10:

Again this is just a test so there is a lot I would (and may) change

bograt, nice render! Can you try to render a single frame in bucket mode with 16 subdivs, 0.03 threshold and 6-10 passes?  I would like to see the differences (quality on the DOF and MBlur).  I think with bucket mode you will obtain a better Mblur and DOF and more noise on the flat area. Thanks!
PS: the car paint is perfect!

Here are the render times, no noticeable improvement using bucket mode for the time but I probably didn't apply the exact settings you suggested.

I am still working on the material but here are the settings, a bit complicated without multi-layer functionality or additive blending mode but it just about works.

hm, corona does not support layered blended material, probably one of your nested CoronaMTls is getting ignored

Interesting, how is this possible? You can see from the render the blend of high gloss coat and the metallic surface.
Do you mean that only 2 of the 3 materials are being blended?

O.k, I guess that may be happening. I used the rough metallic material before I added the bumpy glossy metal so I only mixed a bit of it in. If its not being used at all I am very impressed with how corona deals with the bumps!
