Im looking at implementing version control into our design viz pipeline at work and im trying to get my head around what is required in terms of setup and stuff for a version control system like perforce before i get too deep into it. Can anyone offer any advice on how one would go about using version control on a private server with max?

Thanks
Jack

well... we do. But it is generally not a good option for large binary data. How much data are you looking to version?

Well in my team we look after a retail estate of about 600 stores. We have max models and cad files for each of these stores but we also work on live projects within them and figuring out the latest file is often hard to do and seeing a changelog for each file would be realy useful. The max files are anywhere in the range of a few mb to 1gb+ depending on the content and the size of the store.
