Corona + Radeon Pro (Fire Render)

Im composing, a lets say quite low budget PC for office I work at.

My Boss asked me to consult some tech guy, he treated this really seriously and long story short, he proposed to work on corona using CPU/GPU combo using Radeon Pro Render as the render tool.

My questions here are, can someone tell me if that is a good idea or not? I consulted people a bit, but no clear answer, not google knows.
Im unable to test this my self as I do not own Radeon. Is very good CPU + ok rest is better, or good CPU/GPU + ok rest in comparison for Interior renderings and occasionally exterior.

Are there noticable quality differences?

Hi. First of all the RadeonProRender is free and works with most GPU's, so just download it and try it out. Simple to install, but less simple to use than Corona.

I've downloaded it and tried it, and was surprised in some regards and less convinced in others. Regarding the RadeonPro/Corona combo, then I don't think that will work out very well in reality. RadeonPro do render Corona mats, but in a "dull" and somehow reduced way, and Corona doesn't render Radeon mats at all - except for the Radeon mats build on Max's Standard materials. These are however rendered dull and reduced regarding reflections compared to how RadeonPro renders Standard mats - a thing that would be great if Corona would adapt.

That's my opinion, but as I said, download it and try it out.

we as a company did the initial implementation of FireRender into 3dsmax as a contract work in 2014/2015. We are currently not working with AMD on FireRender any further. We did just the plugin for 3ds max, not the GPU rendering core itself. As a part of the deal, we added direct support of Corona materials to firerender, without the need to convert explicitly with a script. Only a subset of CoronaMtl features could be supported because of the rendering core limitations.

FireRender is NOT "Corona GPU" - it is not developed by us, it is aimed at different market, and has very different feature set. So the best advice is just to download and try it, and see what fits you the best. But do not count on switching between Corona and FireRender, the renderers have very different set of features.
