I have a scene with a forested area; a few manually placed "hero" proxies and one scatter with about 350 scattered trees. When running the interactive renderer max basically stops responding and I have a hard time getting the "stop" button to even register clicks. Is this common or is it my setup (scene/hardware) that could be causing it? Is there something I should keep in mind when using the scatterer?

Corona 1.4. I don't know the exact specs of my work computer, but it's some sort of xeon processor and 32gbs or ram.

Hi, would be great if you could tell us the exact model of the CPU you are using. You could also try changing number of threads used by IR (either lower or higher) - it is in Render setup > Performance, just remember to look for #threads for IR, not for regular rendering.

I have the same problem here but not only with IR, the whole 3dsmax becomes slow when using Cscatter.
If I don't use distribution map it's still usable but the more complex the map gets, the slower max works to the point of not being usable.
I've submitted a bug report on Mantis, ticket 0002151.

ps:sorry for my english :p

I forgot about this. I still have the same problem, even after trying the suggestions. The computer is a HP z420 (Xeon e5-1650 3.2 ghz). Corona 1.4.
