First of all,
I would like to say hello to Corona users.
Guys I have a short deadline for my interior work and I am struggling with carpet material like this one attached to this message.
I would be very thankful for any help.

Best regards,
Marcin

Questions about this type of material pop up from time to time. No wonder, since it's really tricky to setup. I would either recommend using hair and fur or CScatter (if it has to be 3d), or following Juraj's guides from this post(if it can be just a material): https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,999.msg84914.html#msg84914

Honestly it can't be done convincingly by scatter (with direction) or hair&fur. Hair&Fur should just be left alone, it looks terrible in 99.9 cases.

The best look in this particular case is also the simplest, most straightforward solution : The very exact photo of this carpet in this state from top, plus displacement (of any repeated pattern, not B&W map of this texture)

Hej marcell86,

there was a post some time ago about it.
I hope the link will work (just copied it from my browser).

You can take a look at my result.
It wont work in animations I think, because the micro-reflectance of the carpet is faked by a map.

I hope it will help
best regards
Nico
