I'm doing some product rendering integrated in photo and encountered some problem with background. I wanted to blur rendering a little bit to better match photo, so i increased image filter width. But as soon as i did it, i noticed that background is affected by image filtering too, so it became even more blury. So my only options would be either sharpen background image before rendering or comp it after. Neither is ideal IMHO.

So we have ability to override background tonemapping, but have no control over DOF, MB and filtering. Would this be addressed in future? Will we have more control on how Corona treats background?

p.s. maybe i should post it in feature request board? I'm not sure.

I have requested something like this for excluding DOF from the backplate, both MB and filtering are excellent ideas. You could maybe search for my request and add yours there (I'm on mobile right now so it's a bit cumbersome for me to post the link).
I remember Ondra was positive about adding this in 1.5 so bumping my thread with your ideas might be good, too ;)

I didn't find your request, but i have found mine: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,2744.0.html Sadly this probably means no to DOF override :/

Thanks. Here's my original request:

It's a bit different from the one you linked to, you were asking about the environment as far as I understood, mine is about screen mapped backplate.

it would certainly make sense from artist perspective, but it is really tricky to do... :/
