Hey,

In the past I worked with Modo 601 etc., which has a cool interactive rendering feature -> the VFB renders the region first
where the mouse is moving rapidly. It's cool to play with when waiting for your render :)
When the mouse is left untouched the whole image continues rendering.

I see the new Corona already has multiple interactive render regions. Maybe it's possible to integrate this mouse feature in this already cool render engine ?

Regards
Bert

A way to achieve similar (but not totally equal) function, is to create and drag a small region around with the mouse.

Or set vfb refresh time to some huge value and then use mouse scroll to update the vfb. :)

Indeed, that's a possibility ;)

Below a more in depth example of the feature at work:
At 1min 28sec
t=1m28s

Oh, so it's basically like Vray's "follow mouse" option. You can do more or less the same with Corona's interactive regions. :) There was a "sampling brushed" planned some time ago, but honestly I do not know about the fate of it.

when you render with coronas region and then close the region, does it render the rest of the scene to catch up with the region that was focused? or will that region always be ahead in passes from the rest of the image?

Currently it will be always ahead.
The Logic is to have a tool to refine on the Fly. Making it reverse until equal again goes against the idea of a refinement tool.
