What is the best way to mimic VrayClipper without using the proboolean?

I asked about this around a year ago and the best answer I got was "use proboolean" or "slice the geometry and cap the holes" :) I am pretty sure these are your only options for now. I am still using VrayClipper when I need this, unfortunately :/

I am still using V-Ray most of the times - I activate my subscription to Corona when I want to use it for some project/projects.
