What specifically is different about the reference photo and your render?

I failed to open the scene because of the 3ds version.

But i will still try to give comentaries.

1 - try to switch of all the artificial lithing.

2 - Use white overcast HDRI with increased inverse gama (.7-.75 will do)

3 - Increas the brightness of HDRI first not exposure otherway you will get subtile shadows.

4 - Ajust arificial lights only when you are happy with the daylight.

---------------------------------------

Other method. Actualy it is counterpruductive to use someonses render as a reffernce. It is always better to copy photos.

Here is my attempt. Generally I lowered diffuse level of most bright materials on large flat surfaces (walls, ceiling, etc). Usually from about 1-0,8 to about 0,5. I also disabled/reduced reflectivity of some materials. Then adjusted exposure. Also, changed color mapping settings to some reasonable values (highlight compress 2-3, contrast 2-3). Then I removed the window next to the camera and placed a small light instead of it. Other differences are because of different materials (different colors) and different enviro lighting. I should be able to upload a simplified version of the max file on monday if you are interested.

can you share the lighting setup and as scene, i am not interested with the objects in the scene nor the room if its problem. just want to examine the lighting setup with all the hdri and other light sources if possible. I think the result is much different than in the first post, it looks good!
