When I click "convert to max geometry" I expect a mesh that is similar to the scattered one, but the instanced objects are scattered (heh) all over the place.
The blue grass blades in the picture are the converted meshes, the selected bunches are the scattered meshes.

The problem seems to be less if you reset the xform of the instanced objects and collapse them again to editable polys.
The rotation is still a fair bit off, but at least they dont translate a meter away in some direction..

If it's only about transformations not beeing reset, then it's not a bug really - you should always reset transforms. I can't recall having any misalignement problems when converting CScatter objects to mesh.

Actually, resetting the xform and collapsing the mesh seems to have fixed the problem alltogether! I had not encountered a problem with this until now and I thought it seemed a bit buggy, but you are right, you should always reset your transforms.

There was AFAIK a bug, but it was supposed to be fixed. What version is it? can you share the scene?
