idk what causes this but seems my files keep coming up with this, i have just the reflective and refractive render elements active so idk if this is a bug. you can see this in the image uploaded that i circled. all seems to work fine if i select render from file directly after i save and resume but if i close max or switch cameras and render something else then resume later i see this effect

actually what is looking like its as if the image shifted, how is this possible? see the images

Maybe you accidentally transformed your camera? Or added / deleted camera correction modifier? If not, is this behaviour reproducible? You should fill bug report then.

hmmm, i think i did add a camera modifier but shouldn't i get a warning that something changed in the file? i will test it

there is no warning that sometihng changed in the scene - it is not feasible to implement

Doesn't this mean simply that OP is rendering one image over a different one?
