Hi Alex,

There is no reason why it should not work. What´s the name of the user behind "drserver.exe" in the process tab of the taskmanager on your slaves? And are you logged in at the slave as that user when checking if the "machine can see the folder". Again, I can´t emphasize it more (while I´m always getting ignored :) it´s not about a machine seeing something / having a drive mapped but about the user running drserver.

Good Luck

I will try this again on a fresh scene and see what happens. I'm almost positive that all machines are using the same name for their User account but perhaps this is what's causing the issue. Cheers

Ok so, I have done the following:

- both rendernodes are using the exact same User account name and password
- Removed max 2014 entirely, so only max 2016 is detected by the DRserver
- checked DRserver has full read and write permissions for the accounts using task manager > DRserver.exe > Properties > Security

I know it's not a ports or r/w issue since it works fine over UNC paths. Literally only the mapped network path doesn't work.

I just get a load of:

<CoronaDrMessage><Error>Required asset file(s) could not be located:
F:\Projects\0368_Marylebone\max\maps\12_1_7_b.jpg
etc
etc
etc

- both rendernodes are using the exact same User account name and password

That means: You are logged in interactively on both with - say user "user1". You have as "user1" your F:\ drive mapped and you can access it. Then you simply start drserver.exe interactively as this "user1" and then you get those errors?

Never underestimate the power of a well placed level one spell.

I'm not sure but I have created a user account on all 3 of my machines which is named the same and with the same password. The DRServer.exe is launched on each of these machines which is logged in with that user account. So all 3 machines have the exact same setup, same mapped drives etc.

From Max/Corona side this should just work fine - I can´t reproduce that at all. DrServer spawns Max as the same user and thus should also have the mapped drive(s).

Sole "win 8.1. pro" makes my head itching a bit. DarcTheo, OP, are you still reading your thread? ;) You are not running win 8 or 10 like Alex by any chance? Though I could not imagine why such basic networking stuff should have changed.

Good Luck

I'm still reading :p. I'm running Win 10 on all machines. our setup has each machine with an account named after the machine and all drives mapped the same. This setup did not work using the regular paths. using asset tracker and relink bitmaps etc with UNC has made everything work fine.

Lowering my max pixel size package through DR also helped the lower spec PC run without using all the RAM and has caused no problems with rendering the image across nodes and workstation.

We're in the process of upgrading machines to win 10, so maybe this will all be automagically fixed somehow after that! Already torn most of my hair out trying to get this to work.

refresh the asset tracker in the top left. Select all the texture paths etc, then right click on one of the paths and click resolve path to UNC location. hit refresh in top left and it should be done. without clicking refresh it does not update, so you can't see what it has done.

double check all are now using UNC location, if there are some left overs, select them again and do the same process.
