It would be very useful for architectural renders to have a Corona slice tool like vray's where it caps off the slice with the colour it slices and only slices at rendertime.
Anyone with me?

Any plans for a tool such as this? or render support for the vray clipper?

I dont think saying that max's slice and proboolean are the options available would be classed as a resolution to the feature request...

Your request have been moved to resolved category only because such request already exists. It doesn't mean that it was declined at all. I don't know whether or when CoronaSlicer will be implemented, but let's hope for the best ;]

Nice to see this request pop up again, I started the existing one as linked to by Romullus.

A major issue with both proboolean and boolean is that they often fail on complex geometry, especially when the slice passes through holes. I have no idea how the vray clipper works but it would be fantastic to have such a feature in Corona as it's invaluable for engineering animation / supplied 3D CAD.

Thanks :)
