Hello guys! So I tried the tutorials in Corona Youtube about the Corona Scatter. I did it with the use of Laubwerk Trees. At first I got it. but when I try to put the grass and scatter it, my 3dsmax crash. That's fine, but here's the problem, when I tried to apply what I learn about scattering stuff, the trees became weird and didnt look green now. What the hell happen?? I uploaded the image below so you can see.

more information would be helpful. Can you post a screenshot of your material settings?

Hi
Laubwerk Trees makes it's own multisubmaterial, may be this problem connected with this. I would try to convert trees you want to scatter to polys, rename their materials (to break the link with Laubwerk Trees plugin) and scatter them ater that

1. Do you have enough ram in your machine ?  32 Gb is recomenden if you want to work with heavy vegetation.

2. Did you just scatter the tree as a mesh ? converting your models to proxys is another thing to better memory managing.

3. Creating shaders for a tree is better from scratch... dont trust coverted values and maps. (it is also a question of your lightrig)

So what's the difference between image 1 and 2? The trees look fine on the 1st picture. Why does the tree look different on the 2nd one?
You should remember that the material applied to the scattered objects is the material of the original scattered geometry, not the one which is applied to the CScatter icon/geometry.

the weird thing is this, before I went to try the Cscatter, I did some render study for the tree if everything will work out. It's fine. I render 1 tree from Laubwerk with a corona sun. Looks good. And I did the scatter thing from the youtube tutorial. Looking good from the start, but like what I said earlier, when I tried to do the scatter in grass, it crash. The crash thing is not the problem, the problem is when I tried it again for another scene, it became like the second picture above. I didnt touch anything in materials. I just drag tree from Laubwerk panel, add sun and render. That's it. I dont know why?

Have you got messages about missing textures? What Corona version you're using?

to romullus: yeah i go two missing textures after the crash. one is sky.jpg and burloak.jpg. I got this when I open another scene then after doing scatter and render it, a message came out that I missed those textures. Im using Corona 1.3

i use laubwerks all the time, when you run the converter you have to go in and manually tweak the materials, sometimes they have no reflections sometimes too much, and the translucency map value also needs to be tweaked, it happenns alot with trees, i don't think its a bug, just needs some tweaking in the material manually

Don't do this. Not only that you'll lose all node connections this way, but it also will be slow and laborious work. Instead use material converter for this job. You still may need to tweak each material after conversion, but it will be much easier than recreating it from scratch.
