I was doing test renders and noticed my render element files had been saved over. Luckily I didn't need the render elements again, but could really mess you over. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this?

As far as I remember something similar was fixed some time ago. Which version of Corona are you using?
Can you explain what exactly you did? (preferably in steps)

We're using 1.3

Steps:
Setup where to save the image + elements (.tif and .png tested)
Render and let it finish the passes
Untick save image and render again
This time click stop  mid-render (not stop and discard, nor cancel on the render dialogue box), it saves the elements out again.

I remember an identical report, but can't find it anywhere... Maybe even I submitted it. I will return here if I find something.

I tested it and this is standard 3dsmax behavior. Corona does not actually save the images, it is done by 3ds Max. The save file checkbox (I assume you mean the one in common settings) is only for the beauty pass, not for render elements. It works the same in Corona and scanline/art

That's a bummer. Any plans to do a separate save dialog like vray to circumvent this?

*thumbs up*
It would fix the max PNG library error that seems to plague 2/3 computers at the office too :)
