I thought that it would be nice for this option to automatically get disabled if "viewport selection" is used and nothing is selected, instead of displaying an error message. This would allow a workflow where you select some object, tune it's parameters (only the viewport selection is rendered then), then you deselect all and you are free to navigate the scene using IR, and then you can select some object again, ...
Would be super cool with fully working "clear vfb inbetween renders" off.

Didn't want to submit it straight to Mantis as maybe some of you will see some drawbacks of this and would like to discuss stuff.

Might be a bit confusing. One can have render viewport selection enabled and forget about it and then wonder why Corona renders only portion of VFB. At least Mental Ray don't do this AFAIK. I'm not against it, though. Might be a good idea to do so in one of daily builds and see how it works :]

so maybe a checkbox with "render whole scene if no selection", yeah, I can see some free space next to the render selected dropdown ;)

That could be really nice. A sort of "auto solo" function. Could be pretty handy :)

I think that info in Corona VFB title would be enough.
