Hi all,
I know this is a known issue but I'm still have problems with this, is there a fix yet?
I'm using Max 2016 with the latest SP1, Corona is 1.2.1 updated today. Box license.

When I start the computer and open max, the first rendering freezes the computer until it finishes the rendering.  If I close and reopen Max then all's well for the rest of the day.

My morning workflow is to open Max, render a cube at 320x180 and then restart Max.  Hoping to avoid this soon.

Thanks
Geoff

Interesting. Does it happen even if you are not using any textures? Just plain box? Anything else in the scene? Does it also happen with other renderers?

Just tried this,

Made a box and hit render with mentalray, no issues.  I switched to Corona and added a default CoronaMtl (no textures) and it froze.

Actually if I hit render again it still freezes, so its more than the first render, it's until a restart Max.

I have two ideas here:
1. FTH - looks like it's becoming more popular these times ;) https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000678431
2. When Max is frozen, if it's long enough, you could try making a minidump file and sending to us, here is the instruction: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/solution/articles/5000524006-how-to-report-issues-
( 2. Reporting Error Messages or freezes )
You can send the minidump file over to support@corona-renderer.com .

The corona was not rendering when the minidump was taken. Instead something froze the whole 3dsmax (it is sleeping on purpose), but I cannot see what. What other plugins do you use?

Thanks Ondra,  I don't use any other plugins that I know of. This is an out of the box installation that my firm did a few weeks about, all new hardware and everything, I just installed Corona and went at it.  Did I do the minidump wrong?  I'm happy to try doing it again.
Thanks
Geoff

no, it was not wrong in any way, these things just sometimes do not give enough info. It is a thing to try, not a silver bullet :(
