The lack of QA at Autodesk is mind blowing. 2026.3 is probably the worst update ever, zero new features, bunch of new bugs.

It's commonly reported by users and it seems to be a 3ds Max issue unrelated to Corona. The workaround I am using is selecting a material and pressing the A key to assign it.

[Max] I need help! / Foam/Sponge Shader
« Last post by Majeranek on 2025-08-27, 08:58:51 »
Hi,

I know that there were several topics regarding this kind of material but pretty much all of them are quite old and there has been a lot of change in the software since that.

I'm trying to create this kind of foam/sponge shader which will look nice and appealing in high res close up. It seems that it should be easy but to make it look really good in close up yet not taking ages to render is quite challenging. Maybe some of you did something similar already?

there's an issue that im facing that im not sure is related to the latest Corona or max 25.3, ever since i updated my max to deal with the instant crash it would seem that the assign material to selection button the slate matereial editor is useless. it simply doesn't work as i would have to right click on the material and select assign material to selection through the right click menu. Using the 22/8 Build and max 2025.3

UPDATE: Found a way for it to work in case anyone is facing the same issue, you just have to uncheck the mouse pointer button (in yellow) then assign material button will work normally

Hi
Yes, happens in any scene.
I have already sent the minidump to the ticket support section, as Tom asked.
Thank you.

Hi everyone, my name is Sandro and I’m from Argentina.
I’m sharing a preview of the image I’m working on, and I have a recurring question when creating exterior renders: how can I keep the top of the building properly exposed when it’s directly lit by the sun, while maintaining correct exposure in the lower part of the image?
Also, what else would you improve in the image? Any tips on lighting, materials, or post-production are welcome.

Yeah i probably wouldn’t want to do that but if it helps, in every project i do, be sure almost everything is 3D, 98% i would say. Specially vegetation. Have a great day ✌🏻
Ok, thanks for clarifying. Of course, what usually makes these forums valuable is when people share not only results but also a bit of process, that’s often where we all learn the most. But I respect your point of view

BTW, why use the 14 Preview, since that build is already out as the final build 13 Hotfix 1? The only published preview for C4D is older than the official release.

Hi, Mattia.

Yeah, there´s a lot of things going on. But i really don´t care at this phase because these are sketches, rough and quick. So, it doesn´t matter at this point. Hope these answer you doubts.

Got it, thanks! That makes sense, the overall atmosphere is strong and I guess that’s exactly what counts at this stage. The overall look is definitely strong. It would be interesting to know a bit more about your workflow, if you feel like sharing I imagine you’re testing a solid process with Stable Diffusion or similar, given the consistency and the way all the images share the same definition and mood
