[Max] Resolved Bugs / Re: Strange ..
« on: 2013-03-22, 10:33:47 »
I solved the HD cache problem. But, after 8 hours at 4000 px, there are a lot of noise in the teapot, some bad antialiasing and strange red pixels.

If I understand correctly: max sample intensity parameter is exposure dependent.
And, if yes, Exposure compensation is not very useful, because, every time I restart the render after some MSI modification in the previous test in Realtime, I'll obtain a different version, EVERY TIME! As in my attachment

In VRay I can change the Exposure in the VFB and, every time, I obtain the same image. Because the Post modifications in the VFB don't affect the sampling.
Only the Color mapping (Rehinard etc...) influence the images.

In conclusion, isn't there any solution of my problem?

So, if I want to obtain every time the same image/quality solution, what is the correct workflow?
Do I must to start (and change :-( ) every time with the default setting:

* Exposure compensation:0.0
* Highlight compensation: 1
* Contrast: 1.0

And change their as I want? It seams to me so painful method...

There are many strange parameters in this helper
BUG: (there isn't any icon in viewport for this object if the viewport is in Wireframe mode)
But my question is: there is some explanation for all these parameter =)

the image talks for me. It seems that the changes in the Post Processing rollouct affect in some way the Corona core.
But, in my opinion, this behaviour is very odd and incorrect.
Try to think...

*(1) Ok, I like my rendering, but it's too dark.
*(2) I raise the Exposure compensation during the test rendering, in realtime. Now it's better and I like.
*(3) I want to change the resolution. I stop the render, change in.. I don't know... FULLHD
*(4) click render, but now exposition and quality is COMPLETELY different than the previous render... (O_o)
*(5) I'm shocked!

It's impossible work in this way!
Or am I wrong something?

Ah, ok.. I didn't know. I'll try tomorrow this helper. Thank ;-)

Ok, I played with this scene. With A4 and pos = 70 the splotches remain.
I don't have any "debugging" option to see how to solve the HD cache problem in the ceiling.
Next, there are some strange red pixels under the teapot.
The "black" pixels or the "very dark noise" near the base on the chrome teapot are present by the too hight contrast in Post-production rollout.

Res: 1920x1400 = 30 min at 170 pass

I don't know if you have the same "perception". But when I change some HD Cache settings, I don't have a "real feedback" on what I do.
I want to explain me better. In VRay, you can see VERY WELL the LC "cells" without the LC interpolation. And, if you change the LC parameters, you can see what are you doing (LC+LC)
Is it possible to have the same "feedback" or not?

what do you think in a .exe installer with automatically unistall/install?  ;-)

For me, professional studios are Companies from, I don't know, 20 to 50 rendernodes. Make >3 minutes FullHD animation or heavy production like catalogue >4K with 30 or 40 shots. Not a single man in a room with 2 PC to make a nice rendering for Evermotion gallery ;-)  If I have a robust DR I can do strong job. Without no, I can't. I can simulate SSS, or I do fake IES. I cannot simulate DR. But this is my point of with. Anyway, today I read the entire (ALL) forum. I like Corona, very much...

Every professional studios (ad clients :' ( ) want speed before SSS, IES etc... The DR importance is x1000 than other features, like IES, SSS etc...

Upss.. sorry. I do now!

this is my first thread.
I would like you are working of these professional feature

DR Rendering. Important for a professional production
BB Rendering. Read above
Clipping plane. in arch-viz it's EXTREME useful
