100 percent the biggest issue I see that corona is missing is vray's licensing model were you buy a release and get the point releases associated with that number release. Only then paying for the next number upgrade. Your present box licensing system serves as nothing more than placating those who have no interest in subscriptions  but doing so in the most begrudging ugly fashion i.e offering no point releases over the lifetime of that number release. Neither of your current offerings(subs/box) would be acceptable to me at present for example.

Happy vray for modo user here, but always curious with what corona is doing.Hope some good changes come from your acquisition, congrats on becoming part of choas group its a great move imho.

Looks like Elvis has left the building

I don't get Bertrand he's made a post like that and doesn't bother to follow it up by answering questions asked on his own blog ....

Fair enough , but it does seem counter to the facts . That you are doing your best to penalize individuals who choose that route .

... Box without subscription is probably the worst solution of them all

that certainly looks like that was the  plan ....

All the other go through versions , maxwell for example went from 2 - 2.7 over a 3 year period even at 2.7 new features were added (grass).
I bought octane years ago and that had many many updated before it hit 2.0 which has now hit 2.1 with new updates .

So yes 90 days is very bad.Bug support after the 90 days has not been clarified at all on how they would proceed with issues of that ilk.

Anyway best of luck with it all .

I fall into the camp that refuses to rent software. So the box version would have been the only option of interest to me.
But your box support ( 90 days ) is the worst  I've ever seen on any piece of software, compare it to octane, maxwell , vray for example.

Hope you sort it out.
It's all largely irrelevant to me at the moment as I'm not a max user. Corona is just something I've had my eye on for a while hoping you would do a modo version.Must admit that your current box policy has killed my interest.

What are you using as your bridge from modo ? , or are you just using max now as I 've noticed you are not around as much over there anymore?

In all honesty I highly doubt showing a dialogue with whatever the options are now , will make any difference . Anyone with enough intelligence will just find out for themselves . As Juraj has already stated we will all make our own judgements/tests.

Just to clarify my issues with maxwell are speed based , and the lack of user options to combat that. So congrats to Ondra for giving you all options to facilitate that. Tora's tests just piqued my (and I'm sure others) interest even more with what is happening with corona so I wouldn't look at that thread in a negative light towards corona IMHO. Your balance of speed/ quality ratio seems very very impressive. I really doubt that thread will have any negative impact on the success of your product. The opposite seems more likely to me.

The maxwell crew are not inherently a bad bunch, they are just as guilty as anyone else of trying to protect their own product .Which is completely understandable, as it is on their forums. If I felt that it wouldn't cause more trouble than its worth I'd post some new dialogue screen shots myself, but it will believe me.

So yes just carry on : ), let the results speak for themselves as they have up until now … (and please do a modo plug in!!!   : ))

All I'm going to say is please hurry up and get a modo plug in going. I would love to try Corona ……  : )

I've payed for maxwell so felt I had every right to give my point of view, although I don't think I've helped my popularity on those forums though  ….  ahhh well
