[C4D] General Discussion / Scatter lights?
« on: 2025-05-29, 15:38:37 »
I used Scatter clone lamps across a plane, but the Corona Light I added wasn’t cloned. Is this supposed to work?

I sorted it out. It seems my HDD was almost full.

Thanks, will do!

[C4D] I need help! / Cosmos browser: Preview images are gone
« on: 2024-08-23, 13:26:13 »
For the past two days, I have been unable to see any preview images in the Cosmos browser. It is strange because downloads are still functioning properly. Despite updating to the latest version, I am still encountering this issue. What could be causing this problem?

Would it be possible to 3d-scan a few nuggets? I have used the Kiri app many times with small objects and the quality is quite good. And it’s free to try out.

I can’t help wondering why you would want to light a closed room that way. As mentioned above, it’s possible but unnatural.

I’m sure you have thought about these options already, but I would either remove the back wall or light the room with Corona Lights. For even more realism, use HDR images of actual lightsources and add them as textures to flat polys. HDRs like these capture the light falloff, shape and internal reflections in a very realistic way.

Why not an HDR image? There are plenty of golden hour shots to use. Rotate the Corona sky to get the sun where you want it. You can also check out the tutorials by Common Point - lots of good advice on HDRs.

If nothing else works, there’s always Topaz Labs’ Sharpen AI.

I usually draw a spline in the top view - anywhere on top of the terrain - and use it to limit the scatter area. Or a 3d object in the case of a flock of birds, for example.

+1. More flexible line renders would be very helpful. I really like the approach in Zbrush, with a simple layer system for strokes and outlines.

That’s how I usually do it as well. Drop a cube into the scene, add the volume material to it and exclude it from the light. Just make sure to keep the camera outside the cube volume and everything should be fine.

+1. It would be a really cool addition.

I would probably render once, then saving out another shot with a higher exposure value. Then combine them in post. That is, if you want to keep the natural indoor lighting. Otherwise, adding more light sources works as well.

14
Yes, that would be great!

That would make decals even more powerful.
