We started out with 4. something (in August of this year so whatever was the latest version then.) I am not sure then what has changed, all I know is now we have to manually save the alpha pass from the frame buffer. As I said its not a big deal, I was wondering if there was something that had been changed that we needed to fiddle with but if its not meant to happen then it's not hard to work around. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Romullus,

I am certain it was creating it automatically as I had never had to save it manually or make an alpha element in render settings since we switched over to corona. I am not sure if it came with the update to Corona 5 but it possibly could have been since then. It is only something we have noticed as a team in the last 2-3 weeks. I know it isn't the biggest issue its just our work flow is with linked elements in photoshop and now we have to manually override the alpha. Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies, sorry for not making it clearer what the issue was. Previously before the error began we wouldn't have to set up an alpha element as it would appear automatically in the frame buffer when rendering (this is still the case.) However what has changed is when the render has finished and it is set to save all of the elements from the frame buffer it will save a .tif (just the format we use) for every element except the alpha pass, which it did used to do. When I hit save all from the frame buffer it also will not make an alpha.tif.

Thank you for pointing out it now loads into the channels, I guess this is more of a bug report as some previous functionality seems to have stopped working.

Hi everyone,

Recently our team has noticed that the Alpha pass has stopped automatically saving along with the other render elements like it used to, we now have to save it manually each time, is this a bug or has something changed that we aren't aware of?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Hi everyone,

This is going to be a noob question so I apologise in advance, but I have tried searching through the forum and online and not been able to find an answer.

My office has recently switched from vray to Corona and so far it has been great, however we cannot figure out how to match the vray frame buffer history functionality. I want to know if there is something I am missing or not understanding, I know how to resume from file with a cxr, however I want to be able to load my finished render file back into the vfb to then render a region, not for it to resume rendering from where I saved it. As it stands I seem to only be able to load the cxr and it starts rendering immediately and I have to cancel it which takes ages before I can then set up my region to render. If I save anything in the history tab of the vfb it is not there when I reopen the scene after closing. Am I doing some wrong?

Thank you for any potential help,
Matt
