Hi,
I found the reason - you wouldn't get on that idea :)
In the background was Maya still silently running with Vray-IPR on.
As soon as I switched it off, Corona worked again.

Cheers
(& thanks for your replies..)

Yes, both scenes rendered before properly as they are.
The scene from yesterday was already a double-check.

Hello,
after some trouble with a file and a crash of 3dsMax, Corona isn't rendering anything at all and needs several minutes to stop
I opened also another file from yesterday to check...

I guess something in the preferences has been destroyed.
What is recommended to solve this?
Install again over it? or deinstall first? Or are there preferences to delete?

Thanks again

thank you all!

I will test it soon

[Max] I need help! / Area Light > LightPlane & Lightportal
« on: 2020-02-29, 17:34:54 »
Hi,
I was converting a scene from Vray.

1.)
The Vray-Area Lights are now white planes with a multi/subobject-Material  (maybe from a texture before).
I can not set them on invisible in the viewport (they have been placed in front of the windows). I tried in the RMB-menu in the Properties,
but there is Display Properties > "See-Through" greyed out.
(attached screenshot)
Is there a guide or tutorial on this maybe?

2.)
I found out, I have to activate them manually. Is that right?

3.) Question: LightPortal: Is it recommended to use it in Corona for windows?

4.) Is there something like a light lister?

Thanks again!

I am looking only for same behaviour like a Vray Camera.
But strangely in another sene today it is working... I did not find out what was different yesterday, when it always tumbled.
I will hopefully find out :)

Converting is easy in both directions:
Corona to Vray: Assign the vray renderer and in the viewport Rightbutton click > Vray Scene Converter. That's it.

But there is always a bit trouble with Area lights (or light planes) in both directions. They need to be set on "invisible for camera"

- When I convert my VrayScene to Corona, the area lights became white planes.
I did not understand how to handle right now...

Hello,

a) I wonder, why my IPR render looks very denoised (no grain, no details visible)
Is there another hidden setting?
I did not apply denoising to lights and I did not activate "fast denoise preview during render".

When I toggle a light I can see the sharp grain just for a second then it is blurred again.

b) When I hit render (saving file as tiff) it is showing question marks at "remaining time".
(it's a interior scene)
Is that typical? And how can I estimate the time needed?

(attached a screenshot)

Thanks

Hello,

currrently I am testing the exchange between Corona and Vray.
I had converted a VrayScene to Corona.
And I read I can convert a Corona Scene back to Vray.
Is that conversion non-destructive or does it change basicly the scene each time, that I want get the same results anymore?
(e.g. when I would do it several times)

Thanks

Hello,
I am used to Vray (3dsMax) and testing Corona:

I have problems with orbiting the camera, it should not rotate on all axes.
Is there a hotkey or another orbit tool?

Thanks
