Any update on this? I just am now realizing that it is not my computer, but rather a corona issue?

2
After I import new objects into my scene my file fails to interactive render. It stays parsing for an endless amount of time and my total rays stay in the 1000s.

However, after I close and reopen the file, interactive rendering works like normal. It isnt after I merge or import a new object that the interactive rendering fails to parse the scene.

I dont know whats going on! This is very frustrating considering I am spending hours figuring out this problem rather than working on my projects. This has been happening since I updated to the latest Corona 12.

Does anyone else have similar scene parsing issues when using interactive rendering?

Hi,

Please, can you send over the scene you use, and the scene/object you import/merge, after which the IR will not start?
It can be related to the scene and to the imported objects. On simple scene, I found no issue when importing/merging objects while IR is running.

Definitely. On simple files it works perfectly fine. After building a scene and merging many objects the file always gets less and less responsive. After clearing retimers the file seems to act much more responsive although if the problem persists i will have to send the file over as you mentioned. Thank you for your attention to my issue

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot:

Resetting the ENU folder has resolved similar issues for some users. https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=40189.0
Follow this article to get help with resetting the ENU folder: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Resetting-3ds-Max-3ds-Max-Design.html

Try to reset your render settings to default from Corona Render Setup>Scene>general settings>reset settings

If the issue persists then try deleting your scene object by object and keep testing till you isolate the issue. it might be caused by corrupted geometry or hidden null objects.

Also try using Corona scene cleaner from Corona power tools and see if it helps.

Hi Aram,

Thank you for your reply and troubleshooting options. I have attempted to clean the file via the corona power tools, specifically cleaning all retimers, and that seemed to do the trick. My file is much more responsive for now!
I appreciate your help so much!

Hi everyone,

For the longest time I have come across this problem when I save my final files from the VFB.

I do not know if it is a color space thing, but my files always come out with a different tone (more to the greenish side) and with less contrast.

Is this normal? I have put up with this discrepancy in colors from the VFB ----> Final Output for years, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows a solution for the VFB image colors to be the same as the final output?

For example, a brick material; the brick looks nice and red in the VFB but when exported to any format for final output the brick is then cast slightly greenish.

Any help would be tremendous because this is seriously a very annoying thing to happen. I am happy with my VFB colors, but the final output does not match.

Thank you!

the speed of my slate material editor has always been extremely laggy while utilizing real time rendering. when clicking on any node, it takes sometimes 5-10 seconds to load a single node. these seconds add up and I sometimes just dread to work at all. i spend more time waiting for nodes to load while i am real time rendering than actually doing any creative work. it is extremely frustrating and I have no idea what's the deal with this constant lag. does this have to do with complexity of the scene? any help would be great!

I am running on a threadripper 3990x and a RTX 3080 and 3ds max 2022... although it's been laggy on 2020 as well.

Thanks so much romullus for the reply!

Yes, I did read about H&F not being properly supported, but didn't realize it also meant not properly deriving a pattern from the diffuse of the object.
I really hope they add proper support in upcoming updates, for now I will stick to 1.61 as I use the H&F quite often in my workflow.

Thanks again for the quick response and help :D

Is there a new workflow for hair and fur in corona 1.7?

I am unable to derive the geometry source texture as a the diffuse for the hairs. It defaults as yellow colored hair that I am unable to change no matter what I attempt.

Does anyone know a solution to this? So far nothing has worked out.

Thanks in advanced!
