I don't know if it's related but i had similar artifacts  a few versions ago when i was  using corona bitmap in my HDRI on large renders.
It seemed that the HDRI became super pixelated with corona bitmap and thus producineg those artifacts.
I resolved it by using the classic c4d bitmap and filter to tweak the HDRI a bit and the problem dispeared.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you can do that with only one material.
You should use the "Projector" shader (under Effects>Projector in the shader menu) and set it to the projection of your choice for the maps.

I've download and tested your file.
It does so because all your materials are named the same (ie. Material).
If your rename it Material1, Material2, Material3, etc... then it copy and paste fine.

What I often do is copy the alpha map in your diffuse slot, so you can see it in the viewport.
When you've finished to adjust it, just remove it and put your diffuse map in the diffuse slot.
Or I move it while looking at the IR.

I might have found a bug in the latest daily build (B2 daily Sep 18 2018 (core 3 (DailyBuild Sep 18 2018))

When you open the Material Node System window at the same time as the Texture Manager window, you're not able to select a texture (to relink for example) in the Texture Manager window.
It flashes for a second and deselect itself.

As soon as the Material Node System window is closed, you can select again in the Texture Manager.

Tell me if you can reproduce it or if you need more information, thank you!

This latest version has no memory problems?
since the previous one gave an error in large scenes or with a large number of polygons

No more problems about memory in this one. (I've tested with a file that gave me problems in the previous beta and it runs fine now)

In C4D you can change this by playing with the options in the "phong tag" attached to your object

Sorry if i wasn't clear, my english is not so good
By split i mean that i copy paste the polygon on which i want to apply the decal on top of the polygon with the base material.
It is maybe not super clean but it has worked for me so far.

It seems that it is not possible to stack materials yet with corona for c4d.
What i'm doing is copy pasting the face i want to add the decal with the split function.
My base material goes on the object, and the decal material with alpha on the splited face.
