Recently switch to 3ds max 2025 and struggling with color management.
My question, how to make image in frame buffer not effected by 3ds max AcescCG tone mapping? Before i used Corona tonemap control node for that.
I am able to make material editor and viewport to show proper image but not for rendering.

Thanks for sharing the screenshots. I tried to reproduce the issue on my end using Corona 12 update 2 and Max 2025, but I wasn’t able to see the same problem.

Can you please raise a support ticket here:
https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

While creating the ticket, kindly include:
  • Your scene file (or a simplified version of your file where the issue happens)
  • Steps we can follow to reproduce the problem on our end

It looks like problem solved with restarting 3ds max, as changing VFB requires restart, maybe adding notification about that would be handy for other people.

Hi,

Yes, Corona follows the rules set in 3ds Max color management.
If Auto and the custom (whichever primaries it comes with) give different results, please show an example to understand the case better.
3ds max color management is by default(AcesCG), if i drag and drop textures (jpg etc) it's fine with native bitmap, if i adding corona bitmap it always RGB primaries set to custom(sRGB) and have wrong colors. Auto mode telling color space is sRGB and looks fine.
If 3ds max set to gamma color management, corona bitmap loading right linear sRGB in RGB primaries.
How to set to Auto by default?

Corona 12.2 (3ds max 2025), after changing VFB to 1.0 it opens 2.0
In batch rendering 1.0 opens even if 2.0 is set in settings, i don't know what happening

Search in start menu Start Chaos Cosmos Browser and run.
or you can created shortcut with

we will fix the bug, but we will not add a separate option to do this, the displacement is meant to be render time-only, not for modelling
Then how to use third party terrain generators they can give height map, vegetation map, even river map, but how to make scattering whit this maps? In this point we need to make into mesh for distribution because even bitmap\CoronaBitmap\displace modifier they all work differently and cannot be used in making height mesh for scattering

By the way you can drag root just on node not only in root slot if you hard to aim on small zoom level for example menu will appear to choose slot

For particles until it have the same count of particles after 0 frame moblur will work. Or use vray)

You can make it with many ways, photoshop filter like fiber and a bit adjustment or fractal noise with oceanFD map like this

Note if you will render many times old render may be blurry, there was bug not sure if it was fix it
