[Max] Resolved Bugs / Object IDs gets reset
« on: 2015-05-07, 09:05:02 »
Hey, I have a scene setup for final rendering now and I'm just testing the passes with masks for objectIDs, but when I render it just seems to render some passes with objectID 0, and when I check that the passes with IDs are set up correctly, some passes have had their object ID reset to to 0. Here's an image to help further explain. Funny thing is some passes don't get their ID "reset" to zero.

Please ask if I'm not making myself clear enough :)

EDIT: I just added a "_" (underscore) to some of the names of the passes, ie: "CMasking_Mask_5_" and it seems to have worked. For now.

Pretty natural light, I like it! Only thing I'd have to say is that the floor texture could use some more work. (Low resolution?)

Hi, I know this is related to a 3rd party script but as I imagine Corona has a vast amount of archviz-users I thought to mention it.

When I use the Floor Generator script to "fetch settings" from an already created floor, in order to make another floor identical to the first, my multi/sub-object shader removes all but the first slot. Very annoying, and
I don't believe the cause to be identical material IDs as I only use say 1-10. Afaik the script uses much higher values (50+).

Edit: Also happens when creating new floors.

Regards

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Re: Corona UI Defaults

As far as I can understand reading the replies, making a defult UI theme for Corona is more complicated than just making max automatically convert all material slots into corona materials, but I think alot of users are used to this (from vRay). I'm certainly missing it.

Some of the best interior renders I've seen with Corona. Well done!

Hello. I just wanted to share some renders I've been working on lately. This project was mostly just a study of Corona. :)

I'm so hyped for retail release! Hopefully some of the limitations I encountered during this project have been improved by then.

Critique is most welcome.

Im guessing he used a zdepth pass for post-DOF? Also, there's alot of grain in the first images.. but nice work! :)

Hey. I saw this wall and pattern in a music video and liked it so much I decided to do a render of it...

I know it's simple.

Hi, I apologize if this has already been adressed but I was wondering about how corona utilizes cores in progressive rendering vs bucket rendering? As far as I've understood 1 cpu core equals one bucket in bucket rendering; is it still somewhat like this with progressive rendering? How does it scale? And perhaps there's no right answer to this, but is a strong mhz CPU with few cores weaker than a weaker cpu that has many threads? I'm still using a 2600k.

OT: Tried searching the forum for answers on this topic and found none. I did however find the way the searchword turned bright white in the search results quite annoying. :P

That's what I tried to pinpoint in the image I posted; the faces already do overlap. The ceiling the one in seethrough shading (alt+x) and the other is the beam.

I re-rendered a few passes of the same view, but disabled all reflection and rounded corner-settings on both shaders. Seems to me the problem still presents itself? Also, you can see how the two objects intersects..

OT: What sites do people usually upload images from on this forum? Im not used to BB code bus afaik I cant upload images straight from my PC?

Yes! I believe the wall has a glossiness of about 0,7 and somewhat grey-white reflection color so that's correct and I believe the ceiling has very very low reflectivity/refl. glossiness settings..
