[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Camera Object Size
« on: 2024-07-19, 08:36:40 »
Hello billycoopdraws,

no you can't scale the camera in Cinema, if you use the scale tool only the focus distance of the camera changes.

Try scaling your model when you are in Cinema, see attachment.

Good morning,

I can only agree with the previous posters. The files are loading again as expected. Many thanks and thumbs up to the Corona team!

I wish you a good start to the week!

Hello tuami, hello bnji,

doesn't work for me either. Short test with a 9 MB file. Opens in Corona 11 hotfix2 in 4 seconds and in Corona 12 RC2 1min58sec. I see it like you tuami, if you export the file with all assets and textures, then there are no problems. The problem occurs when the databases are accessed in C4D.

I've attached a screenshot of the 9MB file of the asset inspector where you can see where the textures and materials are. Maybe it'll be helpful for you bnji and it must be possible to create such a file yourself.

best regards from Berlin

I'm on win11 and C4D 2024.4.1

Hello Tom,

unfortunately the tip from the other thread doesn't work for me. The files don't open within an acceptable range. After a few minutes I closed Cinema. What I noticed was that although I was able to close the program without it crashing, it was still shown as open in the Takmanager for ages. To restart it I was forced to close the program in the Takmanager every time.

I'm on Windows 11 and have been using Cinema 2024.4.1 since today, yesterday I tested it on 2024.4.0.

I also tried it without my self-created database in the asset browser on the clean installation of Cinema 2024.4.1. There was no difference.

Greetings

hello guys,
I just tested the release candidate 1 for Corona 12. Unfortunately, I have the same problem with opening older files. They just don't open, or rather I don't have the time or patience to wait.

What works again now is the synchronization of the current camera and the VFB without having to open Cinema's image manager first, it's enough to open the VFB directly. That didn't work in Corona 11 hotfix 2.

What's nice is that you can now link the VFB in the Cinema layout.
I hope the problem with opening older files will be solved soon.

Greetings

I have the same problems as the others. Files don't open, or rather I forced the program to close because a 50mb file wouldn't open even after 5 minutes.

Hi Ben,

I changed the setting, but it didn't change the result, see the video in the attachment.
A question for everyone reading this. Am I the only one with this problem?
I'm also attaching my start file and my layout. Maybe the error is somewhere here?

Hi Beanzvision,

how do you open the VFB?

The synchronization only works for me if I first open the C4D image manager (image step 1) and then open the Corana VFB in the image manager (image step 2). If I open the VFB via the Corona menu (Figure 3), the camera tag does not synchronize.

Ok Beanzvision,

Thank you, I will install and test the hotfix again. I'll let you know.

Hey Beanzvision,

you're doing exactly the opposite of what I meant. I think the majority of users change the exposure in VFB and not in camera tag. I don't want to open 2 windows to change the exposure of the current camera. Whatever has worked so far in all previous versions.

Hello everyone,

I just tested chaos-corona-11-c4d-hotfix 2.

The Corona VFB and the Corona camera tag still do not synchronize.
Am I the only one with this problem?

Has anyone tested whether the asset browser and texture paths issue has been resolved?
I'm back to Corona 10 hotfix2.

Good morning Luis,

I have the same problem. You have to wait forever to open a scene. I tested it with a scene created in Cinema4d 2024.3.2.
The loading time in corona 10 (hotfix2) according to the task manager built into C4D is 0:00min and in the current daily 1:17min for the same file (see attachment). If you have a big scene, it may take some time.

I think it has something to do with the Corona materials and the Corona proxies. If I delete all materials and convert all proxies, the file loads normally.

Maybe everything will work if you start a completely new project. But I don't have time for more tests.
I'm back in Corona 10 (hotfix2) because I have to constantly work with "old" files.

In general, there is currently a problem with Corona materials in cinema. As already described elsewhere in the forum, Corona materials always lose the connection to the textures when you save them in the Cinema4D Asset Browser and then reinsert them into a project.

My system: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X with 128GB RAM, RTX2080 SUPER and Win11 23H2
I'm working with Cinema4D R26, 2023.2.2 and 2024.3.2

I wish everyone a good start into the week.

or in this one: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=41425.0
