Hello,

I was rcently wondering if it would be possible to implement a similar behavior as Color Correct, with possibility to use settings from another Color Correct map. For UVW Randomizer, I think it could become very handy, when using several maps (diffuse, glossiness, normal ...) for a material, to be able to "link" UVW Randomizer maps with each other. It's possible using multiple Bezier Float controllers, but that can quickly become both time-consuming and messy ... Or am I missing something here ?
What do you guys think ?

[Max] I need help! / Max Ray Depth somehow broken ?

Hello :)

I've a problem with Ray Depth. FYI, I'm using Corona V7.1, with 3dsmax 2021.3.2.
My scene has a typical situation for ray depth I guess: in a nutshell, mirror in front of another mirror (see cropped rendering enclosed). And it doesn't matter how high I set Max Ray Depth, it seems rays are still cut to early, I shouldn't end with black, right ?

Hello,

It would be very practical to get a button in the official Corona toolbar to enable / disable Distributed Rendering.
As an option, right click on it would open Render Setup directly on Distributed Rendering settings rollout :P

Hello,

I was wondering if there were any chance to get some polishing in the VFB presets for Tone Mapping:
- ability to define a presets path, like for LUTs
- then getting a dropdown list, listing the presets in the defined path, thus making it easier to navigate, like for LUTs

Hello,

I've just noticed a problem when using a glass material, as base material, with Thin (no refraction) option in Corona Layered material. It seems there are no more reflections !
Can anyone confirm that, please ?
I use 3dsmax 2021.3, with Corona v6 hotfix1.

Hello :)

Would it be possible to make Corona Bitmap compatible with Edit Bitmap feature available with a right-click on a standard 3dsmax bitmap, please ?
I mean, in Slate Preferences, we can define our Bitmap Editor Path, so that when we right-click on a bitmap node in Slate's view, than hit Edit Bitmap, it directly launches our favorite bitmap edition app (PS, Affinity Photo or whatever). I was recently lost not seeing this Edit Bitmap option anymore, before realizing I was simply right-clicking on a Corona Bitmap, and not on a 3dsmax standard bitmap ...

[Max] I need help! / 3dsmax Substance plugin & Corona 5

Hello,

With 3dsmax 2020.3, I've recently noticed the Substance plugin (v2.3.1) returned an error about Renderer Compatibility, not sure if it's worth bothering or not. If I go in Substance menu -> Substance Settings -> Render Compatibility "Open Dialog", I get a window warning that "The Substance plugin has detected an incompatible renderer ...". Any idea about why this appears and what are the consequences if any ?

[Max] Feature Requests / Corona Camera - Object Visibility

Hello,

Regularly, I find the name of this functionality pretty confusing. While Object Visibility makes objects totally non-renderable, sometimes it would be very practical to only make them invisible to camera, but keeping them visible to reflection/refraction, and keeping their shadow casting as well. Do you guys think it could be possible to add an option allowing to choose ? Object(s) in this Exclude List could be either totally non-renderable or simply not visible to camera ?

[Max] Feature Requests / VFB - region activated

Hello,

A little but annoying thing in VFB region rendering that would be great to solve. Let's say you work on a scene, using region rendering to check things here and there. Then you save the scene, close 3dsmax, and reopen the scene later, open the VFB, region rendering is greyed out ... no way to know if it's activated or not. So you have to run rendering to discover region rendering is actually on, which can often be annoying to say the least. Please guys, would it be possible to either:

- make region rendering controls available when VFB is run for the first time in a scene, so that we can set it off before rendering if needed
- or display a warning message like "Region rendering was left activated, do you want to keep it on ? with Yes button (-> it stays on) and No button (-> it's set off)

What do you think ?

Hello :)

While the new in-house toolbar is globally very sweet, would it be possible to enhance the light creation part ? I mean, instead of changing the light type afterwards (plane, disk ...), would it be possible to choose directly what type we want to create ? for example, keeping the mouse button clicked would provide a "dropdown" buttons list, thus allowing to choose the light type ... that would be very practical.
For example, you can already use such a behavior with several buttons in 3dsmax: Transform Coordinate Centers (Pivot Point center, Selection Center, System Coordinate Center) , Snaps Toggle (3d, 2.5d, 2d), various tools "under" the Align tool,  various tools "under" the Array tool ...

Hello,

Being an heavy user of proxies (CG for retail ...), I was missing such a thing for a long time, I didn't want a lister because of the nature of the scenes we work on. So I used the VRay Proxy Tool made by David Mackenzie, and reworked it to make it Corona-compliant. I just removed the undo feature I found useless. However, for some reason the progress bar seems a bit capricious, not sure why ... no matter for now, it doesn't prevent the script from working correctly.

Let's hope you'll find it as useful as I do for daily work !

Intangibles est une jeune agence de design créée en 2010, basée à Paris et spécialisée en design graphique et retail design. Nos clients interviennent sur tous les secteurs d’activité, en France et à l’étranger : Sephora, Système U, Intermarché, Deezer, Fnac/Darty, Jardiland, Maisons du Monde, Picard, Prêt à Manger, Primark, Relay, …

Nous cherchons à présent à renforcer l'équipe 3d avec un(e) graphiste 3d, avec au minimum 5 ans d'expérience, pour un CDD de 6 mois à temps plein ou un CDI, selon profil. Une bonne connaissance de 3dsmax, Corona est requise, ainsi que de Photoshop (After Effects serait un gros plus). Des notions de retail design seraient appréciées.

La mission :

- Modélisation 3D des projets (retail / architecture commerciale), de 50m2 à 3500m2 :)

- Matériaux et éclairage

- Production des images et post-production sur Photoshop et/ou After Effects

- Modification et mise à jour des scènes et images 3D déjà réalisées

- Réalisation d’animations 3D
 

Le (la) candidat(e) devra :

- être rigoureux

- être autonome

- faire preuve d'initiative

- savoir s'adapter au workflow mis en place

- avoir un esprit d'équipe

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Corona AO and Light Material

Hello,

I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it works "as designed", so I'd rather report it. I've just noticed that AO doesn't work correctly when used in CoronaLightMtl, as long as Emit Light or Occlude other Lights options are disabled .... bug or feature ? :P
