Rather than starting a new topic, I thought I'd bump this

I've got a similar request, but for an anamorphic illusion on a digital display - I understand the texture projection using a camera map modifier but is there a way to have this projection using geometry?

So say I've got a plane for my screen, I want to then render what's behind the screen onto a texture for the screen if that makes sense?

The method I've got just now is to render from the camera as is, and then warp the footage so it is correct for input into the screen display

Hey guys

I've been charged my monthly renewal on the 16th of this month however under 'My Products' on the Chaos subscription page, there is nothing listed and consequently I have no available licenses. I've opened a ticket up about this but haven't heard back yet and have a few client projects to work on over this Easter weekend.

Is there any way to resolve this?

Had some help on this, and apparently there's a similar issue in Vray when using the IPR.

In my previous post, I had the camera and car connected to the same dummy which was following a path to create the motion. I unlinked the camera from the dummy, and manually keyed in the animation, and then it worked.

As I'm typing this, I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the path constraint being a linear float controller by default, instead of a bezier float as the XYZ is.

Hey guys

Been working on a still for a client where a car is turning a corner and the camera tracks the car, keeping the same motion to keep the car in focus. That all works great, and the wheels blur nicely, and so does most of the background except for the road.

Here's a comparison between in-render MB and using a Velocity Pass to add it in post.

Now the MB in post looks correct, but why is the in-render so different and is there something I'm missing? (I've cranked up the samples to the max but it loses all the detail and doesn't give that nice curved look)

Right now I'm having to run 2 passes, one with MB and the other with Velocity pass so I can blend the best of both in post but an in-render solution would be fantastic.

I'm loving using decals to populate environments. Is it possible to add this function to an initial state and then the decal follows the deformation of the base object? 

i.e. Projects decal on frame 0, texture is essentially baked on the surface and deforms accordingly - looking for cloth use cases in animation

I really wanted to capture the essence of drone-style shots, and give a real visceral feel to it. Scene is full-cgi

Turned out I had set the texture repeat mode as 'clamp' - after setting it to no tiling, the issue disappeared. Thanks for getting back to me romullus, I'll keep that tip in mind if I come across it again!

Hey guys

Working on animation where I have a textured chair - it's layered with several UVW Maps rather than a proper unwrap however I get this strange cross / stretching artefact on the non-tiling textures.

To clarify, the tiled textures are fine, and if I bring the camera closer to the object then all the textures work fine. Is this some texture-distance scaling bug?

Just checked this post now and thanks for getting back to me. Yeah that was exactly what I was trying to do - the client asked for a very faint smoke effect so I got away with no motion blur on the smoke particles but it would be good to understand how this could be applied for future projects.

Hey guys

New to using Phoenix FD with Corona but can't seem to find any information on rendering smoke particles with the velocity pass - I know there is velocity information generated when running the smoke sim, but how do I then take that and use it to create data that I can use in compositing?

That's really good to know for future. After switching it off I never encountered any problems with the rest of my project so cheers for the help man!
