[Max] I need help! / Re: Strange material behaviour
« on: 2015-03-06, 10:53:04 »
Unfortunately it looks like this, so this would be expected:
https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,4542.45.html

Solution is to change material settings, for example reduce reflectivity.

You mean reduce reflectivity level, or the reflection color to a darker value?
It should have the same result.

Increase the brightness inside the room?
I mean if you will make the interior brighter, then you will be able to turn exposure down to make the interior as bright as before, but darker exterior.

I have the same issue with DR.
Are you using some other plugins than Corona in this scene? For example vray hdri loader or some texture generating plugin? Something related to textures/maps/lights?

Checked, seems to work fine with vray 3 demo.

Hi, which version of 3ds Max are you using?

Have you configured 3ds Max gamma according to this guide?

Bonus - gamma and normal maps:

Hi,

-Did you activate Corona on all render nodes?
-If it is possible, can you start 3ds Max on each render node and see if it is able to successfully render locally?
-Are all the render nodes able to reach the texture files? Paths are configured properly?

Maybe you will find a solution here:
https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000501666

update:
-Are you using the same version of DrServer on all render nodes and master? (same as Corona)
-Are you using some plugin for textures or lighting?

update2:
-check "retain EXRs" in DR render settings on master pc and check the files after rendering (hold your mouse on the "retain..." checkbox to see where they will be saved)

sorry for being so undecided. :)

It is simply not meant for such use, at least in current version.

Hey, I think you mistook RaySwitch for reflection/refraction overrides.

If you want one map to be visible in glass material's reflection and another one in its refraction, use overrides either in Environment tab or in material:
https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000501978
(see bottom of the page)

This is probably correct. You would have to decrease brightness of sun/sky or increase brightness inside of the room. Try taking a photo inside a room when it's sunny outside.

Cool!

Yep, do not use meters instead of millimeters.
