We have 5 folders linked to Connector, with categories of 3D models. An endless list on "anim layers" and keyframes (dope sheet) is generated whenever we merge a file from one specific folder.
It seems like some kind of "virus" has affected all the models in this folder. Prune Scene is able to remove the layers from the file, but the problem comes back if you merge or duplicate an object after.

Prune Scene doesnt detect any virus, and I don't understand how something could "infect" all of the files (thousands of MAX-files)....

Can't find anything on any forums about this, so maybe someone here has heard of this?

Why is "Beauty" the new standard frame shown in the framebuffer? Before Corona 6 it would always show "LightMix" whenever I would render.

The beauty pass is irrelevant when I have a lightmix, and because it was the standard in previous versions, my brain assumes that I'm looking at the right image.
On two projects I've managed to save out the beauty pass instead of the lightmix, and then closed the file only to realize the mistake in photoshop....

Is this a "bug" or intentional? Or can I change it somewhere in the settings?

I cannot open any MAX-file without it crashing.

It crashes when it tries to load the "CoronaMaxUtils2020.dlt"

I've updated windows and tried uninstalling / installing Corona 6 - keeps crashing.
Reverted back to Corona 5, no crash.

In some scenes my render randomly shows up black (not rendering anything). I know it has something to do with render elements, seeing as the problem disappears / reappears whenever I add, remove or edit my elements.

Several people at the office has had the same issue, but no one knows exactly how or why it happens. Even after it's "fixed", it randomly happens again without warning.

Is this a known issue? any solutions?

Hardware / PC-Build for CORONA & 3Ds MAX, Help me
« on: 2019-08-13, 23:26:39 »
I'm about to do a new build for my home computer, optimized for modelling in MAX and rendering with Corona (arch-viz, heavy scenes). Does anyone have any tips on what components should or could be switched out/in? Unsure about the graphics card, is it overkill?

Case: Corsair Obsidian 500D Tempered Mid Tower
Power: Corsair TX750M, 750W PSU
Processor:AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X
Cooling: Deepcool Castle 280 RGB
Graphics: ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Turbo
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X399-E Gaming, Socket-TR4
RAM: HyperX Fury DDR4 2666MHz 32GB x2

Is it safe to buy two sets of RAM? Or should I buy a 64GB set?
And last thing; Back when I went to school everyone used to say that Intel was better than AMD when it came to 3Ds MAX, is that just hear-say? If not, why?

Can't open MAX after updating to the latest version of corona (others at the office has the same issue).

MAX loading screen stops at "Loading plug-in: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2017\plugins\CoronaUtils2017.dlt"

Any solutions?

[Max] Feature Requests / Bitmap To Object ID
« on: 2019-05-06, 16:02:42 »
3Ds Max has object ID and Bitmap ID, but no way of using them together.

Making 4 boxes that has to have the same material, but not the same color. If a client wants a change in the material and not the color, then I would have to replicate the change for each material.

Assigning different object IDs for each box. Then have a multi/sub-object&bitmap-map where you could use (e.g.) coronacolor for each diffuse-color (basically the same function as multi/sub-object, but not for materials).

This is probably something Autodesk should do, or maybe someone even has (?)

I've never done this, but today it happened - I pressed "Render" when I aimed for "Lightmix" and my overnight render disappeared. Those buttons should really not be that close, even if this is the first and only time I've done this.

Is there a way to get the old render back? I didn't save anything out, and the current VFB i all black....

[Max] I need help! / Memory problems with corona 1.7
« on: 2017-10-30, 10:34:43 »
Both me and my co-worker have been getting this error message upon rendering after the release of corona 1.7. The top text is in norwegian, saying; "Not enough memory to keep running the software". We both have 64gb ram, and our scenes are NOT that large, so this crash shouldn't really happen based on memory.

So is this a common bug with 1.7? or is it just random that it happened to us both after the update?

[Max] I need help! / Material Editor Tiling Issue
« on: 2017-08-18, 12:30:38 »
After an upgrade to MAX 2017 the tiling in my material-preview has somehow multiplied. The "Preview UV Tiling" is set to 1x, but it seems like it's set at 4x (makes it impossible to see what I'm doing with my corona materials).

Any smart tips?

I've heard of a vray render element that shows what areas in an image that takes the most computing to render (heavy ares/ heatmap of some sorts), and was wondering if there is a similar pass in corona that can show me something like that?

I'm struggling with a scene being heavy to render (but it shouldn't be)

[Max] I need help! / Worn Edges - Corona 1.5
« on: 2016-10-25, 12:01:28 »
I used the AO-method in corona 1.4 to get worn edges on objects - but I can't seem to figure out how it works in 1.5?

[Max] I need help! / Light Leaks in Corona 1.5?
« on: 2016-10-12, 14:27:52 »
I'm getting light leaks when rendering a scene. The leaks are understandable at the edges of the wall, but the columns are solids sticking trough the roof - so there shouldn't be any leaks.

Did not have this problem in 1.4. Does every surface have to be "shelled" in order to not get leaks, or is this just a bug?

[Max] I need help! / Scene Scale - Wierd Render Results
« on: 2016-08-09, 09:56:32 »
Hello :)

I'm working on an arch-viz project and I've recieved an SKP (sketchup file). The scene was scaled up in 3Ds MAX prior to me getting it, so everything is scaled "right" (1m is 1m basically).
But I get all these wierd things happen, like: I get a "snapping" motion when moving things, and viewport clipping is really messing things up (dragging the thingy up/down only makes it worse).

I can work around all that, but now it seems to affect my render - anything glass related renders wrong. For instance; I have a glass display with a piece of paper stuck between two glass objects.
When I rendered it in a normal scene it was all fine, but once in the viz-scene it gets cut or dissapears into the glass. I'm guessing it's the scene scale messing it up, seeing as it renders fine when I scale the object 2000% up - but it's too large of a scene to scale the entire thing without it crashing + I don't want to rescale everything I merge and re-calculate everything I make.

Any pro tips on fixing this?

[Max] I need help! / Saving Error (not corona related)
« on: 2016-06-29, 09:46:36 »
I had a plane that was just fine, but when i split it in 2 pieces and turned on the turbosmooth on the one half - MAX totally bugged out and did it's thing with autoback etc. (and ofc it failed).

Every time I open the file now I get an error message saying "An error has occured and the application will now close. No scene changes have occured since your last save."
So i can't open the file, and I can't merge it into a new scene - but somehow I am able to merge it in pieces and everything seems fine (worst case scenario I can keep this going).
But everytime I close the project I get the same message when I open it again, even if I've merged/renamed etc etc....

Any advice?

PS: I know this is meant for corona issues (sorry), but this is the only forum I'm familiar with atm.
