Hi,
I have a problem in a very complex scene under NDA so I simplified it for the sake of the question - I have 2 objects in the scene and a camera animation (rotating around those objects).
My problem -  I need to produce a render sequences that has only the visible part of the blue sphere visible in the render, and everything else is Alpha - Including the green part of the torus that is in front of the sphere. Like in the second attachment - only what I highlighted should be visible in the render, everything else should be Alpha
how can I achieve that ?

The V7 Hotfix 2 version will follow soon after.

Hi,
I bought a model of a goat with hairs done with native c4d shaders. I need to replicate the same "look" of the hairs in Corona. I didn't find any tutorials and I'm a bit confused what will be the best way to do this.
I already turned on "render hairs" in the generate tab of the hairs and I tried using the Corona hair material, but no matter where I put the diffuse map of the goat I get an ugly looking fur with a solid color all over it instead a nice fur like it should.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong ?

Hi,
I'm trying to upload a scene to Rebus and i'm getting lots of "Corona Shared" shader errors.
The main issue is that I've never used this shader in any of my materials. I've checked all of them and I can't see it anywhere.
I also did the Edit -> Delete unused materials
Any Idea why is this happening or what else can I check ?

I can think of two reasons - intersecting geometry and shading error caused by automatic boolean operation (fracturing). Neither of them has anything to do with UHD cache filckering and it's not something that can be fixed in render settings.

So I did some tests...
I raised the UHD precision to 2 - nothing changed, still flickering.
I raised the UHD precision to 4 - nothing changed, still flickering.
I raised the UHD precision to 10 - nothing changed, still flickering, and render times went down a bit. Very strange....
I changed the GI to PT - nothing changed, still flickering.

I also tried to use the 4K cache (experimental) but with no lack

Any other idea why I get this flickering ?

I think you should give PT PT a try for a scene like this - might even render a bit faster without the UHD cache precalc phase.

That said, whenever I get flickering going on the first thing I try is to up the UHD precision from 1 to 2 sometimes even 4.

Hi guys,
I'm rendering an animation and I'm having a weird flickering in the volumetric material.
At the attached examples, look at the letter "A", at the bottom right, there's a weird spot that is changing during frames and actually it doesn't suppose to be there at all.
Any idea what can cause this ?

good time to try out the distance shader!

I tried to set up a material with the distance shader but I can't figure out how you did this. The distance shader can't get vertex maps, so how did you do it ? can you please share a screenshot of the distance shader properties ?
